Welcome to the home of the Cold Kiwi – New Zealand’s longest running Motorcycle Rally
The Ruapehu Motorcycle Club has been helping motorcyclists have a good time since 1972 – this year marks the 44th Cold Kiwi – and once again we have a new exciting site, 2kms west of Waiouru, along State Highway 49

For any updates and latest news, check here, or the Facebook page. The Facebook page isn’t run by the club, but it is a good place to meet like minded rally goers.

For the new and uninitiated, the Cold Kiwi is a Motorcycle rally held every year on or around the slopes of Mt Ruapehu. Traditionally held over the first weekend in September, the beginning of spring often brings clear skies and chilly nights with it, sometimes it even snows.

Around June or July each year, the online shop is available to pre-purchase tickets and apparel. The cheapest way to get a ticket is via the online shop, however you can also fill out and send in an entry form, and can also buy a ticket at the gate, if you are the last minute impulse type.

Check out the FAQ for more information, contact us if you need to know something not on this site.

In 2017, The Ruapehu Motorcycle Club would like to thank Penrite Oil who came on as a major sponsor – their awesome Lubricant Guide finds the right product for every application. Also shout outs go to Super Cheap Auto, they’ve got everything auto and much, much more
